Wow, this guest is not very knowledgeable about the healthcare system her, in the UK or in Canada. Drs. in the US are not paid to keep the patients sick or unhealthy and unfortunately most of what is being said here is only half-truths. Why not actually have a private physician who knows about the healthcare system on your show, I am no big fan of the insurance industry, but to say that all of the insurance companies keep making money by raising their premiums and offering less services is not true. Also, they are not all for-profit companies. One of the largest insurers, Blue Cross is not for profit.
And it is just a lie that when you go into an ER, the first thing they ask you is what insurance you have. This might have been true twenty years ago, but it is no longer true. They are required to see and evaluate all patients regardless of how the visit is being paid for.
Next time, get someone on your program who actually know what they are talking about, Your guest pretends she knows what she is talking about, but really has no clue.
