Think Tank discusses police, prosecutors and protest in Phoenix

Think Tank discusses an investigation into specific actions of Phoenix law enforcement and proposed bills that could impact the right of citizens to peacefully protest police actions in Arizona.

Several cases of overzealous prosecution of protesters in Phoenix have been presented in several recent news reports, most notably by Dave Biscobing of ABC15. (I highly recommend you take a look at several of these riveting reports at this link.)

This week’s Think Tank guests:

• Biscobing is an Emmy-award winning investigative reporter who has been doing a series of disturbing reports on how protesters have been selectively prosecuted by Phoenix police and Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

• Tom Ryan is a local attorney who has been involved in numerous legal actions involving official misconduct, though none of those specifically reported on by Biscobing.

• Darrell Hill is policy director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona. He is also a nonpracticing attorney.

This week’s Think Tank discusses these cases as well as several proposed pieces of legislation that could have a chilling effect on the right of citizens to peacefully protest police actions in Arizona.

The Think Tank airs on KTAR 92.3 FM on Saturday 3-4 p.m. and Sunday 9-10 p.m.
