According to the Phoenix Business Journal Arizona added 99,282 residents in the latest census and moved to 14th in the rankings of the most populous states.
That gathering of data by the U.S. Census Bureau has the state’s total population now at just under 6.83 million people.
Known for its recent growth, Arizona still rivals the likes of Texas, Florida, California and Georgia in terms of residents gained in 2014. All four states gained six digits worth of residents, with Texas gaining over 490,000 residents in 2014.
When looking at the percentage of residents gained, Arizona is behind North Dakota, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Nevada, Florida, Texas, Utah and Washington.
Arizona passed Massachusetts in the rankings since the previous census was done in 2010.
