Report: Possible shooting on Interstate 10 in Phoenix

PHOENIX — Reports of another possible shooting on Interstate 10 in Phoenix on Wednesday sent highway patrol officers to the freeway near 43rd Avenue.
A projectile hit the rear window of a white truck, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

There have been at least nine shootings on the freeway since late August.

On Tuesday, a Phoenix police officer thought he had been shot at on his drive to work. He was heading eastbound on I-10 near 35th Avenue when a side window shattered around 5:20 a.m., he told DPS.
Around the same time, DPS Director Col. Frank Milstead said there was another shooting in the opposite direction.
“Right now there is a real and continuing threat to Arizona motorists…This is a paramount priority for the Arizona Department of Public Safety and our law enforcement partners,” Milstead said.
“The DPS has recast all of our available assets to this investigation.”
A reward worth $20,000 has been posted for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the shooter or shooters. Please call 602-644-5805 with information.
So far, only one person has been injured.
