PHOENIX — Ever wonder how your favorite restaurant fares on its safety inspections? Thanks to a new online tool from the Maricopa County Environmental Services Department, you can find out with just a few clicks of a button.
The department recently launched a new website, where users can view food inspection data from any restaurant of their choosing, according to Division Manager Andy Linton.
“You can search by specific restaurant names, addresses, the city and zip code,” he said. “There’s a ‘near-me’ function where it will detect your location and pull up all of the food establishments within a mile radius of your location.”
All of the establishments within the program have been participating in the County’s Cutting Edge Program, a program that involves restaurants with an established food safety system, Linton said.
The tool, which can also be accessed on a mobile device, allows users to submit complaints with accompanying pictures.
