PHOENIX — Thanksgiving dinner isn’t just for humans at the Phoenix Zoo.
The nutritional services staff prepared an annual Feast for the Beasts holiday spread for animals.
More than 20 squirrel monkeys at Monkey Village certainly appeared thankful as they chowed down, as can be seen in an adorable video posted on social media.
Food, glorious food! 🍗😋🍷🐒
The squirrel monkeys in Monkey Village were wined and dined with the finest Thanksgiving feast in the Valley! Special shoutout to our nutrition services staff and the primate keepers who help make this tradition a highlight of every year 👏 pic.twitter.com/khSKAObTO4

What were Phoenix Zoo monkeys served for Thanksgiving?
The monkeys’ menu, which was designed to replicate a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, included the following items:
- Pureed cauliflower
- Whole green beans
- Corn kernels
- Chopped canned chow
- Chopped pears and apples
- Chopped greens
- Canned pumpkin
- Grapes
- Shredded carrots
Feast for the Beasts isn’t the Phoenix’s Zoo’s best known holiday tradition. That would be ZooLights, which began on Wednesday and runs nightly from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. through Jan. 12.
The Phoenix Zoo is located at 455 N. Galvin Parkway in Papago Park.
