PHOENIX — A double house fire in Phoenix displaced nine people on Monday morning, authorities said.
Crews with the Phoenix Fire Department responded to the scene near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road around 7 a.m.
Initial reports said the flames from a burning carport were quickly extending to the second home. Unlike a garage, a carport is an outdoor structure typically separated from residences that protects vehicles from the elements.
