51st Four Peaks Brewing Oktoberfest returns to Tempe this weekend

PHOENIX — Four Peaks Brewing Oktoberfest is returning to Tempe for its 51st iteration this weekend.

The three-day festival will run Friday through Sunday at Tempe Beach Park, located at 80 W. Rio Salado Parkway.

How much are tickets for Four Peaks Brewing Oktoberfest?

General admission tickets start at $20. Tickets are only required on Friday and Saturday, as Sunday is free to all attendees.

Additionally, admission is free all weekend for those under the age of 21.

The festival will run from 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday, 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

What roads are closed for Oktoberfest?

Here’s the list of roads that will be closed from 4 p.m. until the end of the festival:

• Westbound Rio Salado Parkway between Mill Avenue and Lakeside Drive.
• Eastbound Rio Salado Parkway between Hardy Drive and Mill Avenue.
• Southbound Mill Avenue between Curry Road and Rio Salado Parkway. The sidewalk will also be closed. however, northbound Mill Avenue will remain open.
• Northbound Ash Avenue at Third Street.
• Eastbound First Street at Rio Salado Parkway.

What to expect at Oktoberfest

The festival teamed up with award-winning Chef Nicholas Hyche of Der Wurst Hot Dogs, also known as the “Weiner Meister,” due to his unique and massive lineup of specialty hot dogs and sausages.

Hyche’s ‘Kilt Lifter’ bratwurst is made with bacon and apple-mustard slaw and will be available all weekend. This is the first time there has been a collaboration with a local chef to create a signature brat.

The festival is open to all ages and features live music across two stages with the Black Moods and Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers. Attendees will have the chance to eat German food, drinks, games, carnival rides, dancing and more.

Guests can sip on new Four Peaks Brewing creations, such as the Bad Birdie Juicy Golden Ale, Desert Daydream Imperial IPA, Desert Daydream Tropical IPA and Desert Daydream Hazy IPA. 

The annual festival benefits Tempe Sister Cities, an internationally recognized nonprofit founded in 1970, and the proceeds are used to send Tempe high school students to nine of Tempe’s sister cities.
