Teenager killed, 3 other people wounded in south Phoenix shootings

PHOENIX — One teenager was killed and three other people were wounded as part of a shooting incident in south Phoenix late Friday.

Police said officers were called to a hospital near 7th Street and Buckeye Road around midnight after several people who had been shot arrived there.

When officers got to the hospital, they found four victims who had suffered at least one gunshot wound.

One of the victims, a male teenager whom police did not immediately identify, died at the hospital.

Another male teenager and a female teenager were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. A male adult also was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Police determined the site of the shootings was near the intersection of 13th and Van Buren streets.

No other details were released as of 8:30 a.m. on Saturday as police investigated.
