PHOENIX – Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz will make a stop in Phoenix on the same day of the presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump on Tuesday.
The Minnesota governor will join “political engagements” in Phoenix in the afternoon and deliver remarks at a political event at 5:30 p.m., the Harris-Walz campaign announced in a press release.
The speaking event is scheduled to be 30-minutes prior to the start of ABC’s presidential debate which starts at 6 p.m.
The event’s venue was not revealed in the announcement.
According to the campaign, Walz will contrast Harris’ policies against Trump’s. Focus points will be the Harris’ campaign promise to protect fundamental freedoms and strengthen democracy while Walz plans to target Project 2025, rising costs and attacks on freedom.
The governor’s visit is part of a two-day tour of the Sun Belt with stops planned in Nevada and Texas.
Walz will begin the trip on Monday in Dallas and then head to Reno for a campaign rally.
He will fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport at 11 a.m. on Tuesday following a speech at a campaign reception in Las Vegas.
Although this is his first solo trip since being named Harris’ running mate, this isn’t his first visit to the valley. He appeared alongside Harris during a campaign rally in Glendale in August.
