PHOENIX — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot two victims, killing one, in Phoenix on Sunday morning, authorities said.
Officers arrived near 40th Street and Thomas Road after calls of a shooting around 8 a.m., where they found two men with gunshot wounds.
One man, 48-year-old Alan David Whitworth, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other, a 19-year-old man whose identity has not been made known, was hospitalized and is in serious condition.
Authorities learned the two men were involved in a construction project when an argument with the suspect broke out. Then, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at the victims.
No information about the suspect was available, and police recommended using caution when in the area.
Authorities also asked that anyone with information about the suspect reach out to Phoenix police or call Silent Witness anonymously at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO.
