Closures to affect drivers on 4 metro Phoenix freeways this weekend

PHOENIX — As the new year begins, weekend road construction is picking back up around the Valley, potentially hindering drivers.
In north Phoenix, southbound Interstate 17 will be closed from Greenway Road to Northern Avenue from 10 a.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a pavement improvement project, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The Loop 101 ramps to southbound I-17 and southbound I-17 on-ramps at Rose Garden Lane, Union Hills Drive and Bell Road will also be closed.
In the East Valley, eastbound US 60 will be closed between Loop 101 Price Freeway and Mesa Drive from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a pavement improvement project. The Loop 101 ramps to eastbound and westbound US 60 will also be closed.
In the West Valley, the southbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway will be closed between Camelback and Indian School roads from 2 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday for overhead sign work.
Southbound Loop 101 on-ramps will also be closed at Glendale and Maryland avenues, as well as Cardinals Way.
Finally, in the North Valley, westbound Loop 303 will be closed from I-17 to Lake Pleasant Parkway from 4 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday for new interchange construction.
