Here’s how Arizona’s 9 House members voted for speaker

PHOENIX — The U.S. House on Friday night finally elected a speaker after reaching double-digit failed votes since Tuesday, with California Republican Kevin McCarthy getting enough of the vote on the 15th ballot.
Three of Arizona’s representatives played a part in stymying what is typically a formality for a party that has just won majority control.
Longtime Reps. Andy Biggs, Paul Gosar and newcomer Eli Crane were among the 20 Republicans who voted against electing McCarthy as speaker due to the belief he’s not conservative enough, according to The Associated Press.

Even with the dayslong delay, it wasn’t close to the most drawn out in U.S. history.
The longest fight for the gavel started in late 1855 and dragged on for two months, with 133 ballots, during debates over slavery in the run-up to the Civil War.
