PHOENIX — The Old Town ESPN Main Street Tailgate in Scottsdale will get residents ready for Super Bowl LVII coming to the Valley on Feb. 12.
The event along Main Street between Scottsdale Road and Brown Avenue will last five days from Wednesday, Feb. 8, until the big game on Sunday at State Farm Stadium.
ESPN will shoot a number of shows at the East Valley location, including NFL Live and Sunday NFL Countdown.
Admission is free for all ages and will include tailgate-style games, live entertainment, photo opportunities, free food tasting, giveaway items and chances to appear on ESPN behind the on-air hosts and analysts.
“Scottsdale will be the stage for ESPN’s broadcasts during one of the busiest sports weeks of the year,” Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega said in a press release.
The tailgate will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Wednesday to Saturday, and 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday.
The Super Bowl will kick off at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Glendale.
Other events planned include the Super Bowl Experience at the Phoenix Convention Center from Feb. 4-5 and 9-11, the Super Bowl Experience at Hance Park from Feb. 9-12 and Super Bowl Music Fest from Feb. 9-11 at Footprint Center. Paramore, the Dave Matthews Band and Imagine Dragons will headline the performances at Footprint Center.
The Super Bowl had been played in Arizona three times entering this year, most recently in 2015.
The Valley will have a busy sports week, as TPC Scottsdale will host the Phoenix Open from Feb. 6-12.
