PHOENIX — This Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Arizona State Parks will be waiving entry fees to all state residents.
More than 30 parks across the state will allow free admission on Monday, celebrating King, a transformational civil rights leader.
Visitors will be required to show an Arizona license upon entry.
“Arizona’s amazing parks and outdoor spaces are the perfect way to spend a long weekend,” Bob Broscheid, executive director of Arizona State Parks and Trails, said in a press release.
“Admission is free for all Arizona residents in honor of the holiday. I encourage people to explore and enjoy the diversity, beauty, and fantastic weather their home state offers.”
Entry fees will not be waived at Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park, for camping, cabins, special events and concessions.
Fees will also apply to tours at Kartchner Caverns State Park and Riordan Mansion State Historic Park.
