PHOENIX — Arizona Gov.-elect Katie Hobbs continued filling out her cabinet Wednesday by naming directors for six environmental and natural resources agencies.

Karen Peters, a lawyer with decades of experience in environmental and water law and policy, will take over as head the Department of Environmental Quality, a job held by Misael Cabrera since 2015.

Tom Buschatzke will stay on as director of the Department of Water Resources, a position he’s held since 2015.

Cynthia Zwick, who has been running an anti-poverty advocacy group, will lead the Residential Utility Consumer Office, taking over for Malcolm Hightower.

Tom Torres, U.S. Forest Service veteran, will run the Department of Forestry and Fire Management, replacing David Tenney.

Bob Broscheid will continue in his role as director for State Parks and Trails.

Ty Gray will remain director of the Game and Fish Department.

“These are just the leaders we need in order to address the burgeoning water crisis, preserve our natural resources and build a 21st-century clean energy economy that puts Arizona on a path to long-term prosperity,” Hobbs said in a press release.

Earlier this week, Hobbs announced her directors for five state human services agencies: Carmen Heredia for the Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), Angie Rodgers for the Department Economic Security, Matthew Stewart the Department of Child Safety, Dr. Theresa Cullen for the Department of Health Services and Joan Serviss for the Department of Housing.
