PHOENIX — Police arrested a teenage boy for shooting a man near a bus stop last week in Phoenix, authorities said.
Officers were told by a group of people on Dec. 23 that a man was shot near a bus stop on 27th Avenue and Indian School Road, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release Tuesday.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Patrol officers in the area matched a description given by a witness with a male teenager who allegedly fired his weapon before leaving the scene.
A woman was detained with the teenager and later released as a witness.
The teenager was referred to juvenile community corrections for several felony charges, authorities said.
The events that led up to the shooting are still under investigation by detectives.
No other information was made immediately available.
