PHOENIX – A woman and two men died after they fell through the ice while walking across Woods Canyon Lake in northern Arizona on Monday, according to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the lake around 3:30 p.m. and pulled Haritha Muddana, whose age was unknown, from the water. They attempted to save her life but were unsuccessful.

Two men walking with the female on the ice were not found until Tuesday.

Narayana Muddana, 49, and Gokul Mediseti, 47, were the other two victims.

Deputies conducted an expanded search of the area. They were aided in their search by the Gila County Sheriff’s Office dive units, the Department of Public Safety Air Rescue team and the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team.

Woods Canyon Lake is located about 30 miles east of Payson.
