PHOENIX – One person was arrested for aggravated assault and five individuals were cited and released for disorderly conduct after a wild fight broke out inside Mullett Arena in Tempe on Friday night, according to Arizona State University police.
The altercation occurred in the stands during an NHL game between the Arizona Coyotes and the Boston Bruins.
Pete Blackburn of Bally Sports tweeted a video of the fight on Saturday (NSFW).
ASU police did not release the names of the individuals who were arrested or cited.
The Coyotes beat the Bruins 4-3.
Arizona began playing its home games at Mullett Arena, which is located on Arizona State’s Tempe campus just east of Sun Devil Stadium, in October.
The Coyotes will play at least the next three seasons at the facility, which also is home to ASU’s hockey team.
Last month, the Tempe City Council unanimously approved the necessary items for the Coyotes’ proposed arena and entertainment district at Priest Drive and Rio Salado Parkway to move to a public vote on May 16, 2023.
