PHOENIX — With the area already receiving 18 inches of fresh snow, Arizona Snowbowl’s winter season is set to kick off Thursday.

Opening day will commence at 9 a.m. with the Arizona Gondola offering access to advanced and intermediate trails only.

That includes the Upper Ridge, Midway Catwalk, Log Jam and Wild Turkey trails. Beginner terrain won’t be available for use until further notice, according to the resort.

Arizona Snowbowl will also have special events to commemorate the opening.

The first 50 customers in line at the Arizona Gondola will receive a custom Arizona Snowbowl branded face mask.

Live music from DJ Quick Kay will be heard from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Agassiz Lodge deck.

Free donuts and hot chocolate will also be available at the Agassiz Lodge from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Lift tickets can only be purchased online and start at $29 on opening day.

Some lift tickets throughout the season can be purchased for as little as $19, according to the ski resort.

Arizona Snowbowl’s 2021-22 season opened Nov. 24 and ran through May 1 this year.
