Westbound Interstate 10 closed after crash east of Tonopah

PHOENIX – Traffic heading out of metro Phoenix in the West Valley was backed up Tuesday afternoon after a crash closed Interstate 10 for about an hour, authorities said.

All westbound lanes were closed at milepost 109 near Hassayampa Road, east of Tonopah, around 1:20 p.m., the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

As of 2:15 p.m., I-10 was backed up into Buckeye east of State Route 85.

The freeway was reopened by around 2:40 p.m., ADOT said.

No other details were immediately available.
