PHOENIX — KTAR News won the award for Legendary Station of the Year Wednesday night. The award was presented at the 2022 National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Radio Awards in New York City.
In 2022, as the Trusted Voice of the Valley, KTAR News celebrated 100 years of broadcasting in the state of Arizona.
“For more than 100 years, KTAR has been built on the backs of broadcasting legends,” said Ryan Hatch, SVP/Market Manager for Bonneville Phoenix. “We are honored and thrilled to win one of the most coveted awards in broadcasting.”
The largest radio news team in the Southwest delivers breaking news, in-depth coverage and reports on the most important issues to the millions of people who live in Maricopa County and around the state.
“I’m so proud of our talented Bonneville Phoenix team which continues to embody the legacy of building up, connecting and informing the community that we serve,” said Hatch.

The winners were voted on by the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Selection Academy. The votes were then tabulated by an independent firm.
In May, KTAR News won three 2022 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, including one for overall excellence.
KTAR News’ community influence was on full display this past August during its annual Give-A-Thon for Phoenix Children’s, which raised more than $2 million thanks to the generosity of its loyal audience.
In addition, KTAR News received its fifth Crystal Award for Community Service earlier this year.
KTAR News also received a Crystal Award in 2018, 2016, 2014 and 2007.
Established in 1989 and named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, the NAB Marconi Radio Awards are given to stations and outstanding on-air personalities to recognize excellence in radio.
