PHOENIX — Drivers are invited to submit comments to the Arizona Department of Transportation’s latest statewide freight plan.
Comments will be accepted online through Nov. 4 for the plan that works to identify future improvements to the state’s transportation system, ADOT said in a press release.
The plan will serve as a guiding document for freight-related decision-making with its overview of emerging trends and historical conditions, as well as outlining the state’s future priorities.
It identifies fright transportation facilities that are critical to economic growth and give priority to investment in those areas.
More than 60 freight industry representatives in the Freight Advisory Committee helped ADOT in the year-long updating process.
The plan is updated every five years as mandated by federal law.
There is approximately $125 million in National Highway Freight Program funding for Arizona.
