1 killed, 2 seriously injured in wreck on Happy Valley Road in Phoenix

PHOENIX – One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a Thursday afternoon crash in north Phoenix, authorities said.

The Phoenix Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision on Happy Valley Road at 23rd Avenue around 2:15 p.m.

Crews extracted a woman from the wreckage and took her and two men to the hospital. All three patients were listed in critical condition when transported.

One of the men, 28-year-old Cole Boaz, died from his injuries at the hospital, the Phoenix Police Department said.

No information about what led up to the crash was made available.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
