PHOENIX — A seemingly poor second showing to start the Arizona Cardinals season was quickly erased with a second half and overtime to remember in a road win Sunday over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Team radio analyst and host Ron Wolfley joined KTAR News 92.3 FM’s The Mike Broomhead Show on Monday to discuss the epic 20-point halftime comeback.
“I have never seen anything like that before in my life,” Wolfley said. “I have been around this game for a long, long time … and I can tell you right now, what I saw yesterday in the second half of that game was unthinkable.”
The Cardinals scored the game-tying touchdown and two-point conversion as time expired to send the game to overtime.
Then it was a big play from the defense that sent the Cardinals and their fans back to Arizona happy.
“The Arizona Cardinals needed to win that game,” Wolfley said. “The Cardinals looked flat 20 to nothing dead in the water, metaphorically speaking, and they came out in the second half and Kyler Murray refused to lose and gave everything that he had and I think the guys around him and because of that they ended up winning the game.
“This is the kind of win that can have carryover for the rest of the season.”
