The Think Tank’s favorite political guru, Arizona Highground’s Chuck Coughlin, joins the show for a wide-ranging discussion of our politics.
The first question of the week: the wisdom of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs begging off a debate with her Republican opponent, Kari Lake.
We then move to a collective discussion of multiple races and assess the impact of the Republicans nominating an ideologically extreme slate of candidates for the top four contested offices this fall: U.S. Senate, governor, secretary of state and attorney general.
Will this hurt their chances? Or, perhaps, will moderate Republican women who may reject the Republican nominees for the top two offices be reluctant to vote a near-straight Democratic ticket, possibly salvaging Republican candidates for secretary of state and attorney general?
Finally, we consider the impact of the most important issues that may drive this campaign — and consider a couple of issues that may be more significant but seem destined not to play a role in this electoral season.
The Think Tank airs on KTAR 92.3 FM on Saturday 6-7 p.m. and Sunday 9-10 p.m.
