Four Peaks Oktoberfest announces 3-day lineup at Tempe Town Lake

PHOENIX — Four Peaks Oktoberfest at Tempe Town Lake announced its three-day lineup for this year’s event on Wednesday.
The German-themed festival will take place during the weekend of Oct. 7-9 and will include musical acts all three days across two stages, new carnival rides, a celebrity brat-eating contest and a wiener dog fashion show.
Friday’s festivities will including an opening ceremony with horse-drawn carriages and a Volkswagen parade. Happy hour is from 5-7 p.m. which will knock $1 dollar off draft beer, wine and cocktail prices. Rock band Authority Zero from Mesa as well as Wyves will headline the music.
Saturday is all about the brats, as the brat-eating contest and Runnin’ for the Brats events are set. Proceeds from the run around Tempe Town Lake will benefit the Tempe Elementary School District, Tempe Sister Cities and the ASU Frank Kush Football Endowment.
There will also be a tailgate and watch party for Arizona State’s matchup with Washington, which will be played at Sun Devil Stadium.
The Black Moods from Tempe and 2 Tone Lizard Kings from Phoenix headline the second day of music performances.
Sunday will be the only day of free admission for all attendees, as the price for Friday and Saturday is $20 each for those 21 years old-plus.
The day will consist of wiener dog races, a reverse happy hour from 6-8 p.m. and a screening of the Arizona Cardinals’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles at 1:25 p.m.
Journey tribute band Voyager and SuperHero are the musical headliners on the closing day.
