Bicycle rider killed in collision with vehicle on Buckeye Road in west Phoenix

PHOENIX – A bicyclist died Tuesday morning after a vehicle hit him while he was riding on a west Phoenix street, authorities said.
Troy Rosales, 32, was riding eastbound on Buckeye Road west of the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway when he was struck by a vehicle going in the same direction, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.
Rosales was lying in the road when officers responded to a call about a bicycle-vehicle collision around 5 a.m.
Phoenix Fire Department personnel pronounced Rosales dead at the scene.
The woman who was driving the vehicle remained at the scene. Police evaluated her and didn’t find any indication that she was impaired.
Buckeye Road was closed in the area during the morning commute.
No other details were immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.
