PHOENIX — The city of Peoria is offering a free bulk trash cleanup on Aug. 27 due to the ongoing monsoon storms that have hit the Valley.
The service will be offered to those near the area of Cactus Road to Olive Avenue and 75th to 91st avenues, according to a press release.
“This is what community is all about – stepping up to support each other when we need it most,” Mayor Cathy Carlat said.
“Peoria employees and first responders have been working tirelessly to help residents impacted and I’m proud to see one more program to support families as they recover from last night’s damage.”
The city asks residents to put all storm-related debris directly in front of their curb, while not blocking any private property, sidewalks or mailboxes.
They also ask that residents cut any trees into four separate pieces and do not make one large community pile.
