PHOENIX — The final election results for the 2022 August Primary election in Arizona were posted and 866,924 voters cast a ballot, a record in Maricopa County for primary elections, per the Maricopa County Elections Department.
The number measured 35.04% of total eligible voters with 759,240 early ballots (87.58%) and 106,459 election day ballots (12.28%) in the county. 1,225 provisional ballots were counted as well.
The accuracy of the results was confirmed by a hand count audit conducted by Maricopa County political party appointees, according to a press release.
The boards audited four contests including Governor and U.S. Senator on over 5,000 early ballots and 3,000 ballots from five different voting centers.
The post-election Logic and Accuracy Test conducted by the Election Department will happen on Friday.
The test confirms that the software, firmware, and specific election program were not altered during the period between the pre-and post-election Logic and Accuracy tests, according to the release.
The Board of Supervisors will release the full accounting of the vote, including counted and rejected ballots, on Monday.
Voters can confirm their ballot status online.
