PHOENIX — Abraham Hamadeh won the Republican nomination for the Arizona Attorney General race in Tuesday’s primary, securing another victory for a Donald Trump-backed candidate.

Hamadeh’s win — he beat out Rodney Glassman — helped give Trump-endorsed candidates spots in the November general election for governor, U.S. Senate and secretary of state in addition to attorney general.

It’s a success for Arizona GOP Chairwoman Kelli Ward.

“Well, I mean I certainly hope that my influence did help get them over the finish line,” Ward told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Gaydos and Chad on Friday.

“I did stay pretty neutral until the Trump rally when I just I did not endorse anyone, but I did announce to the crowd who I voted for and if people want to vote like me, I’m like, ‘Come on, that’s how we’re going to save America.'”

Hamadeh, a former prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, became a frontrunner after receiving the endorsement from Trump in June.

He spoke at Trump’s July rally in Prescott Valley, where Ward was also a featured guest.

The former president has praised Hamadeh for pushing his baseless claims that the 2020 election was stolen.

Hamadeh led a crowded field with five candidates in early July, but pushed that lead to 24 points over Glassman in the final OH Predictive Insights poll released last week.

Hamadeh will take on Democrat Kris Mayes in the general election to replace term-limited Mark Brnovich.

Mayes ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.
