1 killed at Goodyear home; suspect taken into custody

PHOENIX – A West Valley woman was arrested Tuesday, suspected of killing a man in Goodyear.

The Goodyear Police Department said Dulcenia Edwards, 48, of Surprise was booked on one count of second-degree murder.

Edwards is accused of killing Luis Rene Duarte, 50, at a house near Cotton Lane and Lower Buckeye Road hours after an argument.

Officers had been to the home earlier after reports of a fight between the two, who share a child, police said.

ABC15 reported Duarte was shot.

Edwards was booked into Maricopa County Jail. Bond was set at $1 million.

No other details were made available.
