Scottsdale-area restaurant worker was killed in suspected robbery, police say

PHOENIX – An employee found dead at a Scottsdale-area restaurant over the weekend was killed during a suspected robbery, authorities said Monday.
Tribal police found the body around 9:15 a.m. Sunday at the Red Robin at The Pavilions at Talking Stick shopping center on Talking Stick Way near Pima Road.
Officers had responded to the restaurant after an employee called to report a broken door.
Investigators determined that the victim was probably killed by a robber, police said Monday. The deceased was identified on Friday as Joseph Doyle.
Anybody with information about the case or who was in The Pavilions at Talking Stick area between 6 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Sunday was asked to call the Salt River Police Department at 480-850-9230.
The shopping center is located in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community just east of Scottsdale.
No other details about the case were released. The investigation is ongoing.
