Man evades police jumping into Tempe Town Lake; body found hours later

PHOENIX — The body of a man evading police was recovered from Tempe Town Lake Saturday morning, authorities said.
Officers responded to a verbal domestic fight early Saturday at Tempe Beach Park near Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway, the Tempe Police Department said in an email.
One of the adults, who has not been identified, had outstanding warrants against him and ran from police, police said.
He jumped into the lake and authorities entered into an hourlong search at the lake for him.
The man’s body was found at 11:22 a.m. by Tempe Fire’s Dive and Rescue Team near the Tempe City of the Arts.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No additional information was made available.
