PHOENIX — A bystander was shot at a store in Phoenix on Sunday night, and police continue to search for the suspect involved.

Officers responded to a store near 35th Avenue and Bethany Home Road just after 8 p.m. and learned a woman was shot during a fight between two other women, who fled the scene before police arrived, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.

According to ABC15, the fight took place at a Walmart.

Authorities said two women were in a physical fight when one pulled out a gun and fired multiple times, police said.

It appeared the suspect missed her intended target and struck the victim, who wasn’t related to the altercation.

Police said the woman’s injuries weren’t life-threatening.

The investigation remains ongoing.
