PHOENIX — Construction is underway on luxury residences at the base of Camelback Mountain, while plans were announced for another high-end community in Scottsdale.

The Mountainside Residences, located in the Ascent at The Phoenician private community near 60th Street and Camelback Road, are expected to be completed by 2024.

Thirty-six of the 40 condominiums have been sold for a combined $80 million. The remaining units are up for sale between $4.1 million and $4.85 million.

“We are thrilled to begin construction on the Mountainside Residences and are very pleased with how well our unique desert homes have been received by the market,” Paul Jorgensen, president and CEO of Replay Destinations, the real estate development group in charge of the community, said in a press release.

The Mountainside Residences is one of several phases either done or planned at the Ascent of the Phoenician.

The first phase, 30 golf villa homes along the first fairway of The Phoenician Golf Club, are sold out and were announced in 2020.

They started at $1,785,000 and feature private two-car garages and two- or three-bedroom plans.

With construction started on the Mountainside Residence, the developers announced they are moving ahead with plans for the next phase of Ascent at The Phoenician: Camelback Residences.

The development will have 60 residences across two buildings. Plans are for one bedroom plus den, two bedroom, two bedroom plus den and three bedroom.

They will feature indoor-outdoor living, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, spa-inspired bathrooms and a rooftop terrace with 360-degree views of Camelback Mountain and the surrounding mountain ranges.

Those interested in buying can register for early selection and preferred pricing before contracts are written in the fall. Prices will start at $1.5 million.
