Search on for suspect after newborn baby found dead inside bathroom of McDonald’s in Phoenix

PHOENIX — Police are searching for a suspect after a newborn baby was found dead inside the bathroom of a McDonald’s in Phoenix on Sunday, authorities said.

Officers responded to the restaurant near 33rd Avenue and Indian School Road at about 2 p.m. and found the child inside the bathroom, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The baby was pronounced dead at the scene.

Video surveillance showed an unknown adult female leaving the bathroom before the child was found, police said.

The suspect was wearing a black Calvin Klein shirt, black pants and sandals.

Results of the child’s autopsy are pending.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
