PHOENIX — Phoenix Police Officer Tyler Moldovan was released from the hospital Monday more than a month after being shot up to eight times, the department said.

Moldovan was transported to a medical facility where he will receive rehabilitation for his injuries, the Phoenix Police Department said in a statement.

He has been hospitalized in critical condition since the Dec. 14 incident, which occurred near 15th Avenue and Camelback Road just after 2 a.m.

The shooting suspect, 24-year-old Essa Williams, was indicted on six felony counts last month and has a $3 million cash bond.

Williams’ trial is scheduled for April 28.

The department said in the statement that the Moldovan family appreciates everyone’s support.

We want to hear from you.
