Police investigate fatal vehicle collision with pedestrian in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A vehicle collided with a pedestrian leaving one man dead on Friday in Phoenix, authorities said.

Officers responded to the crash near 42nd Avenue and Cactus Road around 10 p.m., the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.

Tristen Ramos, 43, was crossing Cactus Road outside of the cross walk when he was struck, authorities said.

Ramos was transported to a local hospital before he died, authorities said.

The driver of the car remained on scene and neither speed or impairment were suspected to be a factor in the collision.

The investigation remains ongoing.
