PHOENIX – Federal authorities last week arrested an eastern Arizona man accused of possessing a live grenade in his recreational vehicle.
The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office sent deputies to the Snowflake residence of Mark Blake, 61, on Jan. 2 after receiving reports about a possible explosive device.
Blake allegedly told deputies he had a live grenade in his RV and would make another one if they confiscated it.
A grenade was found the next day when a search warrant was executed, NCSO said.
Arizona Department of Public Safety bomb technicians from the Phoenix area disposed of the device.
On Jan. 13, the FBI arrested Blake without incident on a federal warrant relating to the grenade.
