Phoenix police arrest wanted man involved in multistate manhunt

PHOENIX — A man wanted for shooting a New Mexico police officer and fleeing a Colorado jail was arrested early Friday morning in Phoenix, police said.
Elias Buck, 22, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. at a convenience store near 27th and Dunlap avenues after police received an anonymous tip of his location, police said in a press release.
When officers arrived, he took off running but was tackled and taken into custody, police said.
At the time of his arrest, he was wanted for shooting at and injuring a Farmington officer during a DUI stop and escaping from jail in La Plata County in Colorado, police said.
The U.S. Marshals Service headed up the multistate manhunt for Buck prior to his arrest.
He was booked into Fourth Avenue Jail on several fugitive of justice warrants.
