Sedona named one of best 20 day trips in US

If you live in the Phoenix area, the best day trip you can take has been identified, and it’s one of the top trips of its kind in the country.

Travel and tourism company Fodor’s recently named the Phoenix-to-Sedano excursion one of the 20 best day trips in the U.S..

Here’s Fodor’s rationale for why Sedona, known worldwide as the site of spiritual energy vortextes, is worthy of a visit:

It’s fair to say that Sedona is one of the most beautiful spots in America. This town is famous for its red rocks, mesas, and canyons, so sunset is one of the best times of day to appreciate its majesty.

The travel site also lists several other reasons for why Sedona stands out, including Slide Rock State Park, numerous golfing and hiking options and plentiful boutiques.

The Chapel of the Holy Cross, a popular tourist destination that was built into the buttes, is the featured picture of the town’s entry on the list.

Already this year, the town was named by Thrillist as one of “America’s 11 most beautiful spring destinations,” and TripAdvisor proclaimed the area to be a top-25 U.S. destination.
