Reward in unsolved fatal shooting in Mesa increased to $4,000

PHOENIX – The reward for information leading to an arrest in a fatal shooting in Mesa over the summer was increased to $4,000, authorities said Tuesday.
Jaime Fernandez Jr., 24, was killed on July 17, 2021, in a neighborhood just west of the Loop 202 between University Drive and Main Street.
He’d gone outside around 10 p.m. to get his cellphone from his vehicle and was shot while heading back inside.
Police said a silver Honda Civic or Chevrolet Impala may have been involved.
Silent Witness offers rewards up to $1,000. Friends and family of Fernandez contributed to increase the offer.
