PHOENIX — Mesquite Fresh Street Mex is set to open its ninth location and first drive-thru-only concept in Gilbert in February.

The local eatery opened four locations in the past year, and its newest location will be at 4875 S. Val Vista Drive, according to a press release.

It will have a dual drive-thru ordering system and a walk-up window for customers who want to eat in the restaurant’s patio.

“We leaned into adding drive-thru only locations because we aim to provide high-quality service to our loyal customers,” Ahmad Alatrash, co-founder of Mesquite Fresh Street Mex, said in the release. “Our first location in Old Town Scottsdale was a walk-up counter so we are going back to our roots and serving up street-style Mexican food across the Valley.”

The menu includes street tacos, burritos, protein bowls and quesadillas.

Mesquite Fresh Street Mex is planning on opening stores in Laveen and Avondale in 2022 as well.

We want to hear from you.
