PHOENIX — Two people died and one person was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting Tuesday at a west Phoenix residence, authorities said.
Officers responded to the home near 59th Avenue and Thomas Road just after 10 a.m. and found two women and a man with gunshot wounds, Sgt. Vincent Cole with the Phoenix Police Department said during press conference.
Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez, 57, and Chris Child, 59, a married couple, were pronounced dead while a 79-year-old woman was taken to the hospital, police said.
Authorities are not looking for any suspects, Cole said, and he believes a weapon was found in the home. Police didn’t say which individual was thought to be the shooter.
All three people lived together, but police didn’t specify what the injured woman’s relationship is to the deceased couple.
Cole said a family friend discovered the shooting scene and called police.
No additional information was available.
