2 people dead after motorcycle strikes car in Phoenix

PHOENIX — Two people died after a motorcycle crashed into a vehicle Saturday night in Phoenix, authorities said.
Police responded to the collision around 9:15 p.m. near 39th Drive and Camelback Road and learned a man driving a motorcycle collided with a vehicle occupied by two women and a teenager, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.
The motorcyclist and a passenger of the vehicle died at the scene, police said.
The deceased were identified as Shawn Stokes, 30, and Diana Fletes, 46.
The driver of the vehicle and the teenager suffered minor injuries.
Police said the speed of the motorcycle is believed to be a factor.
