Watch: US House Oversight Committee hearing on Arizona election audit

Oct 7, 2021, 6:54 AM | Updated: 9:19 am

A U.S. House Committee for Oversight and Reform hearing on the Arizona election review is set to begin Thursday at 7 a.m. Arizona time.

The livestreamed hearing is titled “Assessing the Election ‘Audit’ in Arizona and Threats to American Democracy.”

Maricopa County Supervisors Jack Sellers and Bill Gates, David Becker of the Center for Election Innovation and Research, Gowri Ramachandran of the Brennan Center for Justice and Arizona Senate audit liaison Ken Bennett are scheduled to appear.

Doug Logan, CEO of Cyber Ninjas, the firm hired by the Arizona Senate to lead the review of Maricopa County’s 2020 election, was asked to testify but declined.

The oversight committee is chaired by Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney of New York and has two members from Arizona, Republican Reps. Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs.

“I am looking forward to testimony from Republican officials from Arizona who refused to accept the Big Lie and are willing to speak out about the dangers of this partisan audit,” Maloney said Wednesday in a statement to KTAR News 92.3 FM.

“The committee will continue to press for answers in order to prevent future attacks on our democracy.”

We want to hear from you.
