PHOENIX — Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux will embark on its first Valley location this January, bringing more game day atmosphere and a taste of Louisiana to Arizona.

The new restaurant will open in Mesa in January 2022 near Power Road, south of Loop 202 in Gilbert Gateway Towne Center.

The 7,500-square-foot space will feature 75 TV’s, 48 beers on tap and Louisiana-inspired cuisine, officials announced in a press release.

To prepare for its debut, Walk-On’s will start hiring more than 200 people in the coming weeks.

“We are honored to be a part of this great community and to introduce the taste of Louisiana with a game day atmosphere to this fast-growing city,” franchisee Ken Weaver said in the release.

Walk-On’s uses fresh ingredients in each game-day staple dish, which includes crawfish etouffee, duck and andouille gumbo and Krispy Kreme donut bread pudding.

The restaurant’s executive team and local city dignitaries will host a groundbreaking ceremony Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.

We want to hear from you.
