PHOENIX — A personal finance website ranked Scottsdale as one of the best cities in the country to drive in.
WalletHub compared the 100 most populated U.S. cities on four categories of driver-friendlyness: cost of ownership and maintenance of vehicles, traffic and infrastructure, safety as well as access to vehicles and maintenance.
Scottsdale was listed as the eighth-best place to drive in the country, powered by ranking fourth overall in traffic and infrastructure.
Gilbert is the second-best Arizona city to drive in, coming in at No. 17 on the list, followed by Mesa (No. 21), Chandler (No. 28), Tucson (No. 31) and Phoenix (No. 49).
Among the categories were relevant metrics such as the likelihood of an accident, car theft rate and the number of auto repair shops in the city.
Scottsdale was determined to have the fifth-lowest likelihood of an accident, while Gilbert was No. 2 overall for the lowest car theft rate and Glendale had the fourth-most auto repair shops per capita.
The top city to drive in is Raleigh, North Carolina, according to WalletHub, while Oakland, California, was considered to be the worst.
