Scottsdale ranked as the most pet-friendly city in the country

PHOENIX — A personal finance website says Scottsdale is a great place for animal lovers, ranking the East Valley city as the most pet-friendly city in the country.
WalletHub compared the 100 most populated cities across the dimensions of pet budget, pet health and wellness as well as outdoor pet-friendliness.
Scottsdale got the top spot for pet health and wellness and ranked No. 3 in outdoor pet-friendliness.
The city, however, was among the lower third in pet budget at No. 71.
Among those dimensions were metrics such as costs to care for an animal, the number of pet-centric businesses as well as a city’s walk score, the weather and how many dog parks it has.
Scottsdale got points for being ranked as the second-best city in the country for the number of pet businesses per capita.
Phoenix was the second-highest pet-friendly city in the state at No. 22, followed by Tucson (No. 30), Glendale (No. 49), Gilbert (No. 57), Mesa (No. 80) and Chandler (No. 81).
Two Florida cities ranked behind Scottsdale as the most pet-friendly cities in the country, Tampa and Orlando, while Santa Ana was the least pet-friendly.
